The Atlantic Immigration Program is an immigration program that allows employers in the four Canadian provinces of New Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Labrador, and Prince Edward Island to hire foreigners for locally unfilled jobs.
The Atlantic Immigration Program is designed to meet additional newcomers in the Atlantic Canada region to meet the needs of local employers and communities.
The program allows local employers to identify, hire and retain talent from around the world. The program also aims to support population growth in the region, develop skilled workers and increase employment.
The program is part of an overall Atlantic growth strategy that focuses on the following five priorities:
Skilled labor and immigration;
Clean growth and climate change;
Trade and investment; And
Atlantic Immigration Program: How It Works
The Atlantic Immigration Program is a program run by an employer that provides employment to foreigners. All top applicants coming to Canada under the program must have a job offer from a designated employer and have an individual accounting plan for themselves and their family.
Once a designated employer finds an employee who meets their job requirements and program criteria, that employer must first offer them a job. Employers do not have to go through the Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) procedure.
Once the candidate has accepted the job, the employer will contact the candidate with the company that provides the assigned accounting services to assess the requirements and prepare a solution plan. If necessary, employers will support the long-term integration of the new immigrant and his or her family so that they can achieve the goals of their residency plan once they arrive in Canada.
Temporary work permits will be issued to employers who need to fill vacancies as soon as possible so that the applicant and his family can come to Canada as soon as possible. To obtain this work permit, candidates must:
Real job offer;
Letter from the province; And
Be ready to apply for permanent residence within 90 days from the date of application for a temporary work permit.
Designation of an Employer
Employers wishing to recruit qualified immigrants under the program must apply to the district (s) for a name. Employers with offices in multiple provinces will need a separate sign for each province. Employers must meet certain requirements, including the obligation to support the newcomer and his or her family to join their new life in Atlantic Canada.

The Atlantic Immigration Program is one of the great ways to immigrate to Canada as a trade worker. This program is more effective than the previous pilot program.
New applicants can submit their applications only if they meet the following requirements:
High school certificate.
A valid job offer in one of the 4 Atlantic provinces (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland & Labrador, Prince Edward Island).
Meeting the language requirements (minimum CLB 4).
Having enough settlement funds; and
A graduate of a publicly-funded learning institution in the Atlantic region (minimum 2-year program).
The implication of this probating system is that skilled trade workers with at least 2 years of work experience looking for trades jobs that pay well can now start their Canadian application process.
How Can My Visa Application Be Affected in 2022?
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has notified that some changes have been added to the National Occupation Classification (NOC) Code.
Thereby, resulting in obscurity in the effect of these changes on future applicants. The NOC system is gradually evolving from a four to a five-skill level system. This means that a new segment may be added leading to the repositioning of the system skill sets.
This could either mean that one may qualify for a program that was previously regarded ineligible or vice versa.This new system is phased to be implemented towards the end of 2022.
